The MV Baltazar was officially named on September 16, 2026, in Fremantle, Australia. This significant event, considered a milestone for Klaveness Combination Carriers (KCC), was attended by customers, partners, crew members, representatives of the Western Australian maritime community, shareholders, and colleagues.
Details of the Naming Ceremony
The naming ceremony took place at the Fremantle passenger terminal and began with a traditional welcome from the Wadumbah Aboriginal dance group. The ship was named MV Baltazar by the representative and Deputy Premier of Western Australia, Rita Saffioti. The ceremony also included speeches from Anjberit Dahm, CEO of KCC, and Ernst Meyer, CEO of Torvald Klaveness.

Among the guests present, crew members of the ship also toured the vessel and got to know each other. The MV Baltazar is the last ship in the new CABU III series from KCC and is the result of years of planning, design, and collaboration between KCC, its partners, and the shipyard.
Emphasis on Team and Crew Efforts
In his speech, Dahm referred to the long journey that brought the ship into service, stating, “The MV Baltazar project began about six years ago at KCC. This ship is the result of meticulous planning, innovative design, and the tireless efforts of my colleagues at KCC, the shipyard, and our inspection team.”
This ceremony was also an opportunity to acknowledge the individuals who operate KCC's ships daily and make the company's services possible. Dahm emphasized, “The officers and crew of our ships are the heart of all our activities at KCC. They are our representatives in the world, providing transportation services to customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance.”
Dahm also thanked the crew of the MV Baltazar and other KCC ships, especially Captain Bogdan Prajica, who received the Klaveness flag on behalf of the MV Baltazar at the ceremony.
This ship, considered the latest model in the CABU III series, represents collaboration and endless efforts in the maritime industry and will soon join the KCC fleet.
