Petroleum University is launching the first specialized center for examining technical challenges in oil production at the Ahvaz Oil School, located in the heart of the country's oil-rich regions. Mohammad Reza Khosravi Niko, the president of Petroleum University, stated: "Wells and oil fields, like humans, face various issues and 'diseases' over time during production, but until now, there has not been a centralized center to examine and treat these issues."

Khosravi Niko added: "It is possible that various universities and research centers have worked on some of these issues in an isolated manner, but these activities are scattered, and we need a specialized center to focus on oil production diseases." This center is being established with the aim of identifying recurring oil production issues and creating scientific and specialized capacity for each of them. For example, the production of water along with oil is considered one of the major challenges in the industry.

Goal of the New Specialized Center
Khosravi Niko emphasized: "The goal is that if oil companies encounter an issue in the production process, they can refer to a specialized center where experts have specifically worked on that issue and can provide solutions for it." The plan to establish this center began a few months ago, and the university is in the process of setting up the necessary laboratories for it.
He also expressed hope that this center will be operational by February 11 of this year. Other topics to be examined at this center include associated gases and field aging. Khosravi Niko stressed that these issues can be addressed within the framework of the specialized center's activities.
Development of Cooperation with the Oil Industry
Khosravi Niko referred to the university's plan to develop cooperation with the oil industry and said: "Petroleum University derives its identity from the oil industry, and in the past, its role was to educate specialized personnel, but today it must provide a platform for the industry to become familiar with modern technologies." He also announced the university's plan to establish a specialized center for localizing hydraulic fracturing knowledge in the south, adding: "The National Iranian Oil Company needs specialized personnel and technical knowledge in this area, and the university is working to localize the necessary knowledge by creating this center."
