The heavy rig 60 Fath with a power of 3000 horsepower is in the final stages of reconstruction, with its physical progress reaching 80 percent. This project started in the summer of 2025 at the reconstruction site of drilling devices of the National Iranian Drilling Company and will return to operational activity after completing technical processes and operational preparations.
Details of the Reconstruction Project for Rig 60 Fath
The reconstruction of the heavy rig 60 Fath is being carried out utilizing the technical and specialized capacities of the National Iranian Drilling Company, as well as collaboration with experienced domestic contractors. Given the high volume of operations and the specific conditions of the project, the process of receiving the main generator motors and completing the camp caravans is underway to prepare the rig for operational positioning.
Reconstruction Operations for Rig 36 Fath and Other Projects
Simultaneously with the reconstruction of rig 60 Fath, the reconstruction and upgrading of the heavy land drilling rig 36 Fath with a capacity of 2000 horsepower is also underway. The physical progress of this project has reached 55 percent, and according to the schedule, it will return to operational activity by the end of this year. Additionally, the replacement structure for the heavy land rig 61 Fath is being prepared with 60 percent progress.
The manager of the reconstruction and modernization of drilling devices and equipment at the National Iranian Drilling Company emphasized that by focusing on the capabilities of domestic manufacturers and knowledge-based companies, a significant portion of the technical and equipment needs of the projects is being met relying on domestic capacities. This approach will increase self-sufficiency and reduce dependence on foreign equipment.
Abharkpour also announced the signing of a contract for the reconstruction and upgrading of four high-pressure pump units (pump trucks) in the technical services sector and referred to the implementation of an upgrade and modernization plan for the 9-hectare site for the reconstruction of drilling devices. These actions are aimed at enhancing operational readiness and increasing the reliability of equipment.
The reconstruction and modernization program for drilling devices encompasses a wide range of equipment and main components, including structures and substructures, fluid and water tanks, mechanical equipment such as draw works and fluid pumps, lifting systems, diesel engines, as well as electrical equipment like traction motors, electric motors, generators, and power control rooms (SCR) and electronic and precision instruments.
The simultaneous execution of these projects is aimed at enhancing operational readiness and strengthening the drilling fleet's capacity. The return of reconstructed devices to operational activity will play a significant role in meeting operational needs and ensuring the continuity of drilling services.
