Mohammad Najafian announced that the specialized oil and petrochemical delegation of Khuzestan has been dispatched to the Basra International Energy Exhibition. This exhibition, which will be held from September 24 to 27, 2026 (October 2 to 5, 1405), at the permanent exhibition center of Basra in the Al-Maqal port, is recognized as a strategically important international event for economic interactions between Khuzestan and Basra, Iraq.
Exceptional Opportunities for Showcasing Capacities
Najafian emphasized the importance of this event for introducing the local capabilities of Khuzestan in the fields of manufacturing parts, producing industrial equipment, and providing technical and engineering services for the oil and energy industry of Iraq, stating that the active presence of economic actors from the province at this exhibition demonstrates Khuzestan's serious determination to establish itself as the main technical and equipment supporter of the oil and gas industries in southern Iraq.
Planning for Effective Participation
The Secretary-General of the Ahvaz Chamber of Commerce added that the members of the Khuzestan delegation will meet and discuss with senior managers and decision-makers of Iraqi state-owned companies, including the Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC), Basra Gas Company, and Missan Oil Company. This delegation is striving to introduce its production and technical capabilities while creating more opportunities for cooperation with the neighboring country.
Diversity of Exhibition Topics
Najafian also referred to the various dimensions and themes of this exhibition, stating that the event is supported by the Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq and involves prominent companies from various countries such as China, India, and Qatar. The main topics of this exhibition will include oil and gas, petrochemicals, and supporting services for the industry.
According to him, this thematic diversity provides a multi-dimensional opportunity for Khuzestani companies to play a more effective role in the infrastructure projects of electricity and petrochemicals in Iraq. Given Khuzestan's unparalleled workshop infrastructures and knowledge capacities, this province is capable of meeting a significant portion of the needs of Iraq's developmental projects.
