The smart pigging operation of the 30-inch gas pipeline of the Tabnak field, approximately 66 kilometers long, was successfully completed. This operation was conducted to assess the integrity and identify defects in the pipelines in collaboration with specialists and experts from the South Zagros Oil and Gas Operating Company.
Details of the pigging operation
Seyed Mahmoud Mirbagheri, CEO of the South Zagros Oil and Gas Operating Company, explained that this operation was carried out using Cleaning/gauging pigs, Magnet pigs, and smart pigs (Calipr, MFL (HR), and (TFI (HR). Several stages of the pigging operation were conducted around the clock with the aim of sustainable production, and the results of this operation are reviewed by technical inspection experts.

Repairs and safety measures
Mirbagheri also referred to the next phases of this project and stated that areas with high corrosion and risk will be included in the major repair program. These measures are aimed at maintaining safety and enhancing the efficiency of the pipelines. Previously, the operation to replace the main lower valve of well number 20 of the Tabnak field was successfully completed, aiming to secure the well and increase the efficiency of the downhole safety valve.
The Tabnak gas field is located in the southwest of Lamerd County in Fars Province. The gas from this field, after being sent to three collection centers, is transported via two 30-inch pipelines to the Parsian gas refinery for injection into the national gas network. These projects are carried out to increase production and improve gas transmission infrastructure during the cold season.
