The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company has initiated a pilot implementation of the "Emergency Card Identification Scheme" at 54 selected stations in Tehran to achieve the goals of smartening the distribution system. This plan is designed to improve the refueling process and reduce existing problems in this area.
Details of the Scheme and Its Objectives
Currently, 40 percent of the country's refueling share is conducted through emergency cards at the stations. The implementation of this scheme aims to maximize facilitation in refueling, eliminate waiting lines, reduce the oversight of station operators, and create transparency in identity and location data. Additionally, this scheme lays the groundwork for applying optimal consumption management policies and preventing consumption diversion.
New Refueling Process
In the new process that replaces the old methods, applicants can refuel without intermediaries and at a faster pace by placing their personal bank card in the card reader (POS) and after authentication. This approach can significantly reduce waiting times and improve services, especially during peak fuel demand times.
The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, while appreciating the cooperation, participation, and patience of the esteemed public in implementing this phase of the scheme, assures that all actions taken are aimed at enhancing service quality and protecting national assets, and that the issues present in the pilot phase will soon be resolved.
Consequences and Future Outlook
This scheme can be considered an important step towards achieving the country's macro objectives in smartening and optimizing energy consumption. With the successful implementation of this scheme, a significant reduction in refueling problems and an increase in citizen satisfaction are expected. Furthermore, this initiative can serve as a model for other distribution and public service sectors in the country.
