The paint and industrial coatings industry is one of those industries whose range of applications is not limited to a specific sector, encompassing automotive, household appliances, marine industries, oil, gas, petrochemicals, construction, metal equipment, and many other sectors. This breadth has made the specialized Paint and Resin Exhibition not only a place for introducing products but also a platform for familiarizing with modern technologies, exchanging knowledge, and understanding the needs of various industries.
Importance of the Paint and Resin Exhibition
Mahmoud Khatiriha, a faculty member of Amir Kabir University of Technology, pointed out the significance of this event, considering the Paint and Resin Exhibition as an opportunity for connection between industry, academia, and the market, and emphasized the need for greater attention to its specialized content and the presence of the younger generation at this event. He stated: "The Paint and Resin Exhibition, given the extensive connection of this industry with various production sectors, can provide a platform for industry and academia professionals to become acquainted with modern technologies and to form effective connections between producers and consumers."

Industry Development Through Exhibitions
Khatiriha discussed the impact of specialized exhibitions on industry development, saying: "These exhibitions create the opportunity for producers, academics, raw material suppliers, and other industry professionals to become familiar with the latest achievements and the trajectory of technology." He added: "Typically, the newest achievements and technologies are presented at exhibitions, and visitors can observe these products, allowing them to align their research and production activities with the trajectory of technological advancement."
Khatiriha continued: "The paint industry is connected to almost all industries in the country. For instance, in the marine industry, a ship or vessel without proper coating makes no sense, and in the automotive industry, paint is an inseparable part of the final product. This connection can also be seen in household appliances, radiators, wood, metals, refineries, and oil tanks."
The Role of the Exhibition in Familiarizing Students with Industry
He highlighted the importance of the exhibition for students, stating: "One of the advantages of the Paint and Resin Exhibition is that students can see how the knowledge they acquire at university ultimately leads to the production of a product or technology." Khatiriha also mentioned: "Companies active in this field use the exhibition to introduce their new products, and this is not limited to Iran; specialized paint exhibitions worldwide serve such a role."
Khatiriha emphasized: "The exhibition should not be viewed merely as passing by the booths. One should study and see what new product each company has introduced compared to the previous year or how much they have improved the quality of their products."
Specialized Panels and Knowledge Transfer
He discussed the scientific level of the specialized panels at the Paint and Resin Exhibition, saying: "Efforts are made to invite specialists and experts in this field for these panels, and specialized talks are presented, as the knowledge of paint is very broad and deep." Khatiriha pointed out the high diversity of raw materials in the paint industry, stating: "For example, in the field of resins, we encounter a very diverse range of resins that are used as raw materials in paint production."
He added: "In some cases, new technologies have led to products with much thinner profiles that maintain the same quality and even higher resistance compared to older products. Such topics, when raised by specialists, can create new questions in the minds of the audience and facilitate knowledge transfer."
Exhibition Output and Visitor Needs
Khatiriha discussed what output a specialized exhibition should have at the end, saying: "The output of the exhibition largely depends on the type of visitors and their needs. Visitors can generally be divided into two groups: general and specialized, and naturally, the needs of these two groups are not the same." He added: "A specialist enters the exhibition with a specific set of questions and is looking for answers to those questions."
Khatiriha continued: "The paint industry in Iran has today been able to meet the needs of domestic industries in many areas, and a variety of products are produced in the country. For example, in the field of powder coatings, domestic production capacity has developed in recent years, and a large number of production units are active in the country."
This university professor concluded: "The paint industry in the country has reached a significant level in many areas and has been able to produce products that are needed by domestic industries."
