Saeed Tavakoli, the CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, referred to the limitations of gas supply during the cold seasons at the optimization fuel consumption management working group meeting in Golestan province. He emphasized that the northern provinces of the country, especially Golestan, Mazandaran, and North Khorasan, are facing more challenges in gas supply this year.

Challenges of Gas Supply in the Upcoming Winter

Tavakoli noted that this year, due to the imbalance caused by reduced production after the imposed war and damage to refineries, the country is facing a deficit of about 130 million cubic meters of gas. This indicates a more critical situation compared to previous years, and there is a possibility of restrictions on gas supply if peak consumption is not managed.

Solutions and Implementation Plans

The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, referring to the incidents caused by enemy attacks on March 18, stated: "In this regard, 230 million cubic meters of the country's gas production capacity was lost, but with the implementation of early production plans, about 100 million cubic meters of sweet gas returned to the production cycle daily." He also emphasized the reconstruction of two refineries and added: "The process of restoring these capacities has been progressing well, and we hope that before the onset of cold weather, a larger portion of these capacities will enter the cycle."

Tavakoli mentioned three main strategies of the National Iranian Gas Company for this year: debris removal and reconstruction, consumption management and optimization, and active energy diplomacy. In this regard, 109 contracts have been signed with energy service companies that will help improve the efficiency of equipment.

Transformation in Tariff Structure and Consumption Management

The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company also announced the restructuring of tariffs from 12 tiers to 4 tiers with a justice-oriented approach and added: "These reforms will achieve a 5.8% saving in gas consumption during the second half of the year 1404."

Tavakoli emphasized the importance of gas loss reduction projects and the installation of heat boxes at CGS stations, introducing South Khorasan as one of the first provinces with zero leakage in the network and stated that this model should be implemented in other regions as well.

Appreciation for Rescuers and Gas Workers

Tavakoli concluded by appreciating the 12,000 rescuers and gas workers in the country, considering their field presence in sensitive conditions very important and said: "These individuals are at the forefront of service delivery and maintaining the stability of the gas flow." He also announced the implementation of the "Gas Collaborator" project with the participation of 310,000 students and 41,000 teachers.

He urged residential and industrial subscribers to cooperate with the National Iranian Gas Company in overcoming this year's winter conditions by adhering to the consumption pattern.
