The feed gas rate for petrochemicals in Mordad 1405 reached 29,749 tomans per cubic meter. This rate was announced in the last days of Shahrivar and clarified at the beginning of Mehr by several listed companies. The fuel gas rate was also set at 17,849 tomans in Shahrivar. These figures do not directly affect all companies, and their impact depends on the type of product, the amount of gas consumption, and the company's ability to transfer the increased costs to selling prices.
Upward trend of feed rates
The trend of feed rates has shown a completely upward path since the beginning of the year. The feed gas rate was 17,956 tomans in Farvardin and Ordibehesht. This rate reached 20,127 tomans in Khordad, increased to 26,570 tomans in Tir, and reached the highest recorded figure in this period, namely 29,749 tomans in Mordad. Therefore, the feed rate in Mordad has increased by about 65.7 percent compared to Farvardin and Ordibehesht.

Effects of increased feed rates
The feed and fuel gas rates are not just a cost; they have profound effects on the final product prices. For example, in urea fertilizer production units, natural gas is considered an effective raw material in the production process. In this regard, Khorasan Petrochemical and Lordegan Petrochemical are among the companies that have informed about the announcement of new rates and the financial impacts reflected in their six-month financial statements.
The increase in feed rates has occurred in four stages. In Farvardin and Ordibehesht, the feed rate was 17,956 tomans, which increased to 20,127 tomans in Khordad, 26,570 tomans in Tir, and 29,749 tomans in Mordad. Additionally, the fuel gas rate increased from 10,774 tomans in the early months of the year to 17,849 tomans in Shahrivar, indicating a 65.7 percent increase.
Overall, the impact of these changes must be calculated separately for each petrochemical. For companies where gas constitutes a high share of their costs, this rate increase can put more pressure on expenses. On the other hand, if the final product price also increases, part of the cost pressure may be compensated.
