The Sohrab oil field, as one of the important fields in the country, is currently in the development phase, which is being carried out under supervision and with multiple permits. Nasrollah Zarei, the CEO of the Engineering and Development of Oil Company, emphasized that executive operations are ongoing on two of the eight pads that have received development permits.

Details of the Sohrab Field Development Permit

According to Zarei's statements, the permit for the development of the Sohrab field includes several clauses and notes that must be adhered to. This permit is designed to take into account all technical and environmental aspects. Therefore, future phases of the project, including the development of six additional pads, will be pursued carefully and based on the conditions stated in the permit.

Rejection of Claims of Halt in Development

Zarei responded to statements from some media regarding a temporary halt or non-execution of operations on the remaining six pads of the Sohrab field, calling these claims incorrect. He explained that the development of the Sohrab field is being pursued within the framework of the technical requirements and environmental commitments issued, and there is no halt in the execution of this project.

The Sohrab field, as an oil field with significant capacity, is currently one of the priorities of the Ministry of Oil in terms of developing hydrocarbon resources. Due to its geographical conditions and existing infrastructure, it has the potential to create high added value.

Consequences of the Sohrab Field Development

The development of the Sohrab field will not only help increase the country's oil production but can also have positive economic impacts and job creation in the region. Given the capacities of this field, it is expected that with the continuation of development operations, the volume of oil extraction from this field will increase, and consequently, the country's oil revenues will improve.

Ultimately, Nasrollah Zarei emphasized that developmental projects such as the Sohrab field must fully adhere to technical and environmental principles to ensure that production increases while also paying attention to environmental protection.
