In his recent meeting with the managers of the National Petrochemical Company, the Acting Minister of Oil introduced sustainable feedstock supply, the acceleration of the reconstruction of damaged units, and the continuation of exports as the main focuses of this industry's activities. This meeting was held to develop the value chain and increase production, employment, and foreign exchange income for the country.

Sustainable Feedstock Supply

The sustainable supply of feedstock, as one of the fundamental challenges of the country's petrochemical industry, was discussed in this meeting. The Acting Minister of Oil emphasized the necessity of precise planning for the feedstock required by petrochemical units. Currently, the petrochemical production capacity in the country reaches about 60 million tons per year, and the supply of feedstock is considered one of the key factors in maintaining and increasing this capacity.

Accelerating the Reconstruction of Damaged Units

During this meeting, the issue of accelerating the reconstruction of damaged petrochemical units was also examined. Some petrochemical units have faced damage in recent years due to sanctions and problems arising from infrastructure. The Acting Minister of Oil stated: "We must develop comprehensive plans for the reconstruction of these units in collaboration with managers and experts so that we can return to the lost capacities."

This reconstruction will not only help increase production but will also have a positive impact on job creation and foreign exchange revenues for the country. Estimates indicate that the reconstruction of each petrochemical unit can lead to the creation of about 500 direct and indirect jobs.

Continuing Petrochemical Exports

Another important focus of this meeting was the continuation of petrochemical product exports. Given the high production capacities and the needs of global markets, the Ministry of Oil emphasized the importance of exporting petrochemical products. Currently, about 25 percent of the country's petrochemical production is exported to international markets, and this figure needs to be increased. The Acting Minister of Oil pointed out that petrochemical exports can serve as one of the main sources of foreign exchange income for the country in the current conditions.

Overall, this meeting reflects the serious determination of the Ministry of Oil to rebuild and boost production in the country's petrochemical industry. Considering the existing capacities and market needs, new approaches and precise planning can help achieve the country's macroeconomic goals.
