Demand Growth and Production Limitations
The health, safety, environment, and non-military defense manager of the gas company in Mazandaran Province, referring to assessments indicating the likelihood of severe gas tensions in 11 provinces of the country, emphasized: "The growth in demand alongside existing production limitations has increased the necessity for readiness across all sectors of the gas industry and related agencies." Accordingly, subsidiary companies have developed operational plans to address emergency conditions.
Reduction in Gas Production Capacity
Shakouhian, referring to the damages inflicted on the country's gas production capacity, stated: "The provided estimates indicate that about 230 million cubic meters of the country's gas processing capacity has been reduced." He emphasized that efforts to restore part of this capacity are ongoing, adding: "According to the plans, the possibility of returning about 100 million cubic meters of the mentioned capacity is anticipated."
Consumption Management and Infrastructure
Management of the upcoming conditions must be pursued in three main areas: production, gas network infrastructure, and consumption. Shakouhian noted: "In the infrastructure sector, processing, transmission, pressure boosting and reduction stations, and distribution networks are working to maintain readiness and continuity of services." He also stressed the importance of consumption management and the need for cooperation among agencies, organizations, and the public.
Nationwide Energy Imbalance Management Drill
Shakouhian further referred to the planning for holding a nationwide energy imbalance management drill, stating: "For this drill, 12 objectives have been defined, the most important of which include increasing coordination among internal units and external agencies."
