Mazandaran Gas Company has implemented programs in preparation for managing energy imbalance, especially during the cold season. Hezbar Javadi, the CEO of the company, announced the development of crisis management scenarios aimed at readiness for potential pressure drops and gas flow restrictions.

Subscriber Statistics and Provincial Needs

Javadi pointed out that there are approximately 1.8 million gas subscribers in Mazandaran province, emphasizing that about 92 percent of these subscribers are in the residential sector. The high concentration of these subscribers in the cities of Amol and Babol increases the necessity for precise planning to manage gas flow in these areas. The stable population of about 3.5 million in Mazandaran significantly increases during holidays and peak travel periods, highlighting the need for special attention in national energy supply planning.

Crisis Management Scenarios

The CEO of Mazandaran Gas Company noted that various gas restriction management scenarios have been designed based on 30, 50, and 70 percent flow limitation levels. In the 30 percent scenario, the cities of Amol and Babol are prioritized, and at higher levels, more areas of the province will be covered by crisis management programs.

Sustainable gas supply for the residential sector is one of the main priorities of Mazandaran Gas Company. According to operational estimates, supplying about 35 million cubic meters of gas during peak consumption days is essential to meet the needs of the province's residential sector. In this regard, targeted consumption management programs have begun since early May, and analyzing the consumption patterns of residential subscribers is on the agenda.

Javadi also reported a 25 percent reduction in gas consumption by offices and institutions compared to the same period last year and emphasized that the consumption trends of these entities will be continuously monitored. Additionally, the gas company has also set a target for a 25 percent reduction in consumption among its own staff.

Emphasizing the necessity of inter-sectoral coordination in managing energy imbalance, Javadi announced that in coordination meetings with gas companies in neighboring provinces, the issues of mutual cooperation and managing industrial consumption during peak demand periods have been pursued. He reported the readiness of Mazandaran Gas Company to face potential winter conditions ahead and stressed that measures related to operational scenarios have been developed and communicated to the relevant units.
