Kazem Jalali, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow, emphasized the importance of energy diplomacy and Iran's active presence in the GECF ahead of the eighth meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), which will be held on October 27. This meeting is considered a suitable opportunity to shape a new order in the energy sector and strengthen relations among member countries.

New Opportunities in Energy Diplomacy

Jalali stated that the convergence of the 12 member countries of the GECF, which hold 70 percent of the world's gas reserves, can play a key role in stabilizing the global energy market. Iran's presence as one of the largest holders of gas reserves in the world will help strengthen energy diplomacy and connect various regional networks.

Iran's Role in the Future of Global Energy

The Iranian ambassador, while referring to the importance of continuing the consultations of the Iranian President in the GECF, considered this action a fundamental step towards enhancing energy diplomacy and strengthening multilateral cooperation. With gas reserves of over 33 trillion cubic meters, Iran is striving to have closer cooperation with other countries in gas production and export.

This meeting takes place at a time when global energy crises and climate change have highlighted the need for international cooperation more than ever. Iran's diplomatic efforts in this regard can strengthen the country's position in the global energy market and help create stability in gas prices and supply.

Overall, the GECF meeting is a golden opportunity to expand relations among gas-producing countries and participate in important decision-making in this area. With its high capacities, Iran can play an effective role in shaping the future of global energy.
