The installation operation of the 12-inch pipeline for the transfer of associated gas from the Danan field has been completed. This project was designed and executed to prevent the flaring of associated gases and to supply part of the feedstock for the NGL 3100 plant.
Project Details
This pipeline, over 48 kilometers long, has been installed to transfer 12 million cubic feet of associated gas to the feedstock of the NGL 3100 plant daily. According to Mehdi Jahanghash Shajai, the executor of maintenance and production increase projects for the development plans of the West Central Oil Company of Iran, the launch of this line will facilitate the collection of associated gases and reduce their flaring in the Danan field.

Implementation Challenges
In the implementation of this project, over 48,000 meters of underground pipeline and 930 meters of above-ground pipeline have been installed. The crossing of the pipeline over the beds of the Mimeh and Duyraj rivers is recognized as one of the technical challenges of this project. To cross the Mimeh River, the pipeline installation was carried out in two sections of 264 and 204 meters in length, and the length of the installed pipeline in the Duyraj River area reaches 240 meters.
Shajai also stated that the execution of this part of the project began about a year ago and, despite the existing challenges, has now been completed. It is expected that this pipeline will soon enter the commissioning phase.
Environmental Benefits
The operation of the 12-inch Danan pipeline, in addition to supplying feedstock for the NGL 3100 plant, will also help reduce environmental pollutants resulting from the flaring of associated gas. With the launch of this line, the daily waste of 12 million cubic feet of associated gas in the flares of the Danan field will be prevented.
The Danan oil field is located in Ilam province, approximately 30 kilometers southeast of Dehloran. The oil produced from this field is transferred via pipeline to the Dehloran operating unit, and this field is managed by the Central Oil Company of Iran.
