In recent years, the appointment of individuals to key positions in the security sector, especially in areas related to the oil and energy industry, has become a controversial issue. Investigations show that these appointments have been used as an opportunity to loot national assets and misuse public resources. Estimates indicate that approximately $3 billion has been illegally withdrawn from the pockets of retirees and public resources.
Abuse of Job Positions
Existing reports indicate that in this process, hundreds of millions in salaries are paid to individuals who have been employed in these positions arbitrarily and mainly due to family and kinship connections. These illegal hires have created dissatisfaction among actual employees and led to unnecessary costs for the organization.
Moreover, the evacuation of the Assaluyeh base and the construction of luxury offices in Tehran clearly represent widespread violations in this area as a symbol of corruption and resource misuse. In this context, costs amounting to 4.5 billion tomans for new cars and heavy motorcycles have been illegally imposed, mainly for the personal use of certain individuals.
Rent-Seeking and Tender Engineering
Rent-seeking, direct interference in tenders, and engineering them in favor of specific individuals are other illegal actions observed in this area. These processes are not only carried out to secure personal interests but also negatively impact the quality and cost of projects. Ultimately, these activities lead to financial and managerial crises in the oil and energy industries and put regulatory bodies in a difficult position.
Given the extensive dimensions of this corruption and violations, there is an urgent need for immediate and unreserved intervention by regulatory bodies. It is expected that these bodies will take necessary actions to prevent the continuation of these illegal processes and protect the rights of retirees and national resources.
