Biodiesel sales in Singapore significantly increased in August 2026, reaching 57,000 tons. This amount is 48 percent higher than the 38,000 tons sold in July and represents the highest monthly sales volume since April. However, this figure is still 57 percent lower than the 130,000 tons recorded in the same month last year.

Biodiesel Sales Details

Of the total 57,000 tons of biodiesel sold in August, approximately 48,000 tons consisted of VLSFO (Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil) blended with biodiesel, which typically accounts for about 24 percent of total fuel in Singapore. Additionally, the remaining 9,000 tons included HSFO (High Sulfur Fuel Oil) blended with biodiesel. In total, biodiesel sales in Singapore from January to August reached 491,000 tons, indicating a significant decrease compared to 1.03 million tons in the same period last year.

LNG Sales Status

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales remained steady at 59,000 tons in August 2026. However, total LNG sales in the first eight months of the year reached nearly 436,000 tons, showing an increase compared to 353,000 tons last year. This stability in LNG sales indicates a steady demand for this type of fuel in the global market.

Meanwhile, B100 or 100 percent biodiesel sales were recorded for the fifth consecutive month, with sales of about 800 tons in August, down from 1,400 tons in July. Additionally, for the sixth consecutive month, no methanol sales were recorded, and no ammonia sales have been reported to date for this year.
