Venture Global Inc. (NYSE: VG), as one of the leading companies in liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports in the United States, has significantly increased its revenue amid the ongoing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz. In the second quarter of this year, the company raised its net income by 266% to $1.3 billion, bringing its total revenue to $4.6 billion.

New Agreements and Financial Forecasts

Venture Global has also raised its adjusted EBITDA forecast for this year to between $8.7 billion and $9.1 billion. This forecast includes an assumption of revenue between $12.50 and $13.50 per MMBtu from liquefaction costs on remaining shipments. On October 1, ConocoPhillips signed a 20-year agreement to purchase 1 million tons of gas per year from Venture Global starting in 2030. This agreement reflects confidence in the company's ability to deliver LNG quickly and at scale.

Market Challenges and Price Volatility

However, Venture Global's stock has faced challenges. In the early weeks of the war, the company's stock rose by more than 50%, but subsequently, due to price volatility, it has settled at a lower range. Currently, the stock price is almost half of what early buyers paid at the time of the IPO. Price fluctuations in global gas markets, especially in Europe and Asia, have also impacted the company's performance.

Furthermore, other companies active in the LNG sector are in similar situations. APA Corp (NASDAQ: APA), which reported an average negative price of $2.20 per Mcf for its produced gas in the second quarter of this year, expects significant revenues from gas trading due to its long-term contracts with Cheniere. The company sells 140,000 MMBtu per day to Cheniere and anticipates $950 million in prepaid gas trading revenue this year.

Finally, Golar LNG Ltd. (NASDAQ: GLNG), as the only provider of floating LNG for lease and operation, is seeking to attract new customers for its new unit. The company has retained its Hilli unit, located off the coast of Cameroon, due to its financial successes and has recently ordered a fourth unit worth $2.45 billion.
