Mahmoud Najafi-Arab, President of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, during his visit to the first "PlastShow" exhibition, pointed out the importance of specialized exhibitions for the development of domestic and foreign markets. He emphasized that exhibitions should become a platform for international marketing and attracting foreign business partners, stressing the need to pay attention to this issue for the country's industry.
Removing Production Barriers and the Role of Government
Najafi-Arab continued to address the necessity of removing barriers faced by producers, stating: "The private sector is not seeking direct government support; rather, the greatest support the government can provide to the private sector is to remove the obstacles in the way of business and allow industrialists to operate and develop freely."

He also referred to the existing challenges in order registration and currency allocation, clarifying: "The private sector should have the authority to easily use the currency obtained from its exports to procure raw materials." The President of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce mentioned that negotiations are underway with the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade to reform laws so that cumbersome administrative regulations do not hinder industrialists' activities.
The Importance of Single Exchange Rate
Najafi-Arab emphasized the importance of resolving currency uncertainties for manufacturing industries, stating: "Removing currency barriers and facilitating producers' access to currency resources are essential for the operation and development of polymer and petrochemical industries, especially the downstream sectors of this chain."
The President of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce criticized the dominance of "command economy" and "price controls," stressing that as long as the economy remains under this command structure, many problems will not be resolved. He added: "The government should take advantage of the current opportunity to implement a single exchange rate, as this step is one of the key measures to resolve industry uncertainties and facilitate production processes."
Najafi-Arab also noted the Chamber's role in addressing the problems of economic activists, stating: "The Chamber does not have executive operations; our duty is to consult with officials to resolve the challenges faced by the private sector." He also referred to the minor openings observed in the business environment, saying: "This is the result of continuous consultations by the Chamber, although there is still a long way to go to fully resolve structural problems."
