The Secretary of the Detergent, Hygiene, and Cosmetic Industries Association of Iran recently discussed the impact of rising petrochemical raw material prices on the detergent industry. This price increase, caused by global fluctuations and reduced supply of raw materials, has created serious problems for producers in this industry.
Impact of Price Increases on Production
The detergent industry in Iran relies on petrochemical raw materials, which are directly affected by global prices. The Secretary of the Detergent Industries Association pointed out that the prices of raw materials have seen a significant increase in recent weeks. For example, the prices of raw materials, including surfactants and other chemical compounds, have increased by an average of 30 percent over the past few months. This has forced producers to reconsider the pricing of their products.

Need for Intervention by Responsible Authorities
According to the Secretary of the Association, the imbalance in product pricing could lead to reduced production and increased prices in the market. Meanwhile, end consumers will also be affected by these conditions. He called for the intervention of responsible authorities in this area and a review of the pricing mechanism for detergent products. This action could help stabilize the market and prevent excessive price increases.
The Secretary of the Association also referred to the challenges arising from the increase in raw material prices and stated: "Producers need support and facilities to continue their activities and overcome this situation." It seems that currently, paying attention to these issues and making appropriate decisions could help preserve the detergent and hygiene industry.
