Mohammad Sadegh Azimi Far, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, during the ceremony of the 46th anniversary of the Sacred Defense Week and the breaking of the Abadan siege, praised the sacrifices of the employees in this industry in securing fuel while explaining the critical conditions of the country's oil facilities.
Attacks on Oil Facilities and Their Impacts
Azimi Far, referring to the attacks on oil industry facilities during the war, said: "This war targeted multiple objectives from upstream oil and gas to downstream and power facilities." He mentioned facilities such as the Persian Gulf Star Refinery and the Bandar Abbas Refinery that were damaged in these attacks.
He added: "A vast chain of fuel delivery and distribution in the country, including South Pars and petrochemical facilities, was targeted. The enemy tried to weaken the nation's resistance by targeting our facilities."
Unceasing Efforts of Employees to Secure Fuel
The CEO of the National Oil Refining and Distribution Company further stated: "During critical nights, our employees were present at the facilities without interruption, and despite continuous attacks, they continued to secure the country's fuel. For example, on a specific night, 90 million liters of petroleum products were transferred, while the enemy had predicted that fuel supply would stop within 72 hours."
Azimi Far emphasized that employees of this industry, despite numerous dangers, sacrificed their lives and did not allow fuel distribution in the country to be disrupted. "The pumping stations in Rey, as a vital artery for the transfer of petroleum products, were targeted, but with the unceasing efforts of colleagues, this artery was quickly reactivated."
He also referred to the martyrs and sacrifices of the employees, stating: "In total, we have sacrificed seven martyrs in the field of products in these two wars. These struggles and sacrifices enabled the country to stand against enemy threats."
