Importance of the Sohrab Oil Field
The Sohrab oil field is located in the northwest of Ahvaz along the border with Iraq and shares a boundary with the Hoveyzeh oil field in Iraqi territory. This field, with an in-place oil reserve of approximately 70 billion barrels, is considered one of the important shared fields of the country. Zarei also referred to the developmental activities of the neighboring country, adding that the Republic of Iraq has commenced its development plans in this field some time ago.
Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection
The CEO of the Engineering and Development Oil Company emphasized that environmental protection alongside sustainable oil production is one of the main priorities of this project. He stressed that all developmental stages of the Sohrab field are carried out in compliance with the issued protocols to minimize negative impacts on the environment. Zarei added that all efforts are aimed at achieving sustainable production and protecting the country's natural resources.
Ultimately, given the importance of the Sohrab oil field in meeting the country's energy needs, the claim of halting activities in this field is baseless, and the CEO of the Engineering and Development Oil Company emphasizes the continuous and active pursuit of all developmental stages of this field.
