A New Horizon for Oil and Gas Cooperation
The head of the Ministry of Oil stated that the bilateral negotiations with Russia defined a new and meaningful horizon for the level of cooperation between the two countries in the oil and energy sector. Suitable projects for the development of cooperation and Russian investment in oil fields and other joint projects will be carried out.
Bord also mentioned constructive negotiations in the gas sector with Russian and Azerbaijani parties, adding that meetings with representatives from Senegal and Qatar were also held, which yielded positive results.
The President's Presence and the Importance of Energy Diplomacy
He emphasized the importance of Iran's presence at this high-level presidential meeting, noting: The presence of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran at this meeting reflects the country's seriousness in developing energy diplomacy. In a situation where Iran is facing an unequal war, both political and energy diplomacy are simultaneously active, and this can pave the way for strengthening international cooperation.
Energy Security and Global Challenges
Bord spoke about the importance of energy security, stating: Iran's position has always been based on the necessity of maintaining energy security and preventing it from being jeopardized. The recent war by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran showed how much the energy security of the region and the world can be threatened. The consequences of this situation are not limited to one region and also affect global oil, gas, and other hydrocarbon markets. Therefore, maintaining energy security and preventing the spread of unequal wars is a necessity for the global community.
