Spot prices for natural gas at Waha Field in Texas, USA, were significantly maintained at a positive level throughout September. This price stability was created due to strong demand for natural gas during the summer season and high consumption of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Production Records in the Permian Basin
The Permian Basin, which is considered one of the most important and profitable oil and gas regions in the United States, has reached new production records in recent months. In September, daily natural gas production in this basin approached 26 billion cubic feet, which is a historical record. This increase in production should naturally have led to a decrease in prices, but high demand for gas and the need for LNG supply prevented this decline.

High Demand and Its Impact on Prices
During the summer, warm weather conditions and high energy demand led to an increase in natural gas consumption for electricity generation and heating. Additionally, the need for natural gas to supply LNG has significantly increased. These two factors, along with high production in the Permian Basin, contributed to the stability of prices at Waha Field.
Analyses indicate that the average price of natural gas at Waha Field remained around $2.50 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) in September. This price, compared to previous months which faced fluctuations due to increased production in the Permian Basin, indicates significant stability.
