Saipem has successfully secured a contract worth $350 million from Azule Energy for subsea work in the development of the Agogo Integrated West Hub Development located off the coast of Angola. This contract specifically pertains to the engineering, construction, transportation, and installation of subsea infrastructure, including approximately 62 kilometers of pipeline, flowlines, and associated communication cables.
Project Details
The infrastructure built in this project will be connected to the Agogo Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit. The contract is expected to last approximately two and a half years. Saipem has also planned to carry out the construction of this infrastructure at the Ambriz yard in Angola and will utilize local workforce and companies for this project.
Equipment and Fleet Used
For the offshore installation campaign, Saipem will use its own vessels named FDS and Normand Maximus. These vessels will provide modern and efficient equipment as part of the subsea installation operations to ensure the quality and timely execution of the project. Given the specific needs of this project, Saipem is looking to provide the necessary infrastructure to reduce time and costs at various stages of the project.
The development of the Agogo field is considered one of Azule Energy's key projects off the coast of Angola. Given the high potential of this field in oil and gas production, the successful execution of this contract could serve as a milestone in the development of Angola's natural resources and international collaborations in this field.
