The Phase 13 South Pars Refinery, as one of Iran's largest gas projects, has achieved full readiness for sustainable production in the cold seasons of the year, considering the completion of executive activities and the commissioning of equipment. Babak Zarei, Deputy of Development Projects at Pars Oil and Gas Company, elaborated on the actions taken in this regard.

Completion of Equipment and Commissioning of Compressors

Zarei stated that a significant portion of the executive activities and commissioning of the remaining equipment at Phase 13 Refinery has been completed this year, and this equipment has been handed over to the South Pars Gas Complex as the final operator. Among these activities, the construction and commissioning of the gas dehydration unit compressor, the ethane recovery unit compressor, and the carbon dioxide packages related to the fire extinguishing system can be mentioned.

New Equipment and Future Plans

The Deputy of Development Projects at Pars Oil and Gas Company also announced the readiness of this refinery for sustainable production on the verge of entering the cold seasons of the year, stating that the activities related to the construction and commissioning of the southern butane tank and the refinery's gas station have also been completed, and this equipment has been handed over to the operator. Furthermore, planning for the commissioning of the condensate stabilization unit compressor is on the agenda for the next month.

Mehdi Ghorban, head of the onshore development project site for Phase 13 South Pars, further referred to the construction and commissioning of the sulfur recovery unit, adding that this action has been taken to improve the environmental indicators of the refinery. The stages of commissioning the remaining gas treatment section (TGTU) and completing the handover process to the operator are also being pursued.

According to the planned schedules, the completion of the remaining sections of the Phase 13 onshore refinery is scheduled for the end of December this year. This project, with a total production capacity of 56 million cubic meters of gas per day, 75,000 barrels of gas condensate, and 15,000 barrels of ethane, is recognized as a vital source for the country's energy supply.
