The Deputy of Development Plans of the Pars Oil and Gas Company announced that the Phase 13 refinery of the South Pars joint field has entered the path of sustainable production with the completion and delivery of a set of refinery equipment and units, as well as the enhancement of its operational readiness. This progress has been achieved in the first six months of the current year and will significantly contribute to increasing the production capacity of natural gas and by-products from this field.
Details of Phase 13 and Production Capacity
The Phase 13 refinery of South Pars, as one of the largest gas refineries in the country, has a daily production capacity of 56 million cubic meters of natural gas. This joint field, due to its geographical location, is considered one of the most important sources of gas supply for the country. With the operation of Phase 13, it is expected that natural gas production from this field will increase significantly and fully meet the domestic needs of the country.
Operational Advances and Future Outlook
The Deputy of Development Plans of the Pars Oil and Gas Company referred to recent advances in improving the performance and efficiency of refinery units. With the completion of equipment and optimization of processes, it is expected that fuel consumption in this refinery will decrease, and consequently, the environmental impacts resulting from refining activities will also be reduced. These actions are part of the overall strategy of the Pars Oil and Gas Company to achieve sustainability goals and optimize production.
The Phase 13 refinery is also a key unit in the gas and petrochemical production chain of the country, influencing the increase of exports and reduction of dependency on imports. Given the current state of the energy market and the growing need for natural gas, improving the performance of this refinery is considered a vital priority.
