The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has successfully brought the exploratory well Bitrism East-1 in Sindh province into production. This well, discovered last year, is located in the Massive and Basal Sands layers of the Lower Goru field.

Production Details and Well Capacity

The Bitrism East-1 well currently produces 7.0 million cubic feet of gas (MMscf/d) and 200 barrels per day (b/d) of condensate from the Basal Sands layers. It is expected that with stabilization of flow, the production from this well will gradually increase.

Infrastructure and Distribution Network

To expedite the exploitation of this discovery, OGDCL has utilized its internal resources to construct a 28-kilometer, 8-inch pipeline from the well to the Sinjhoro processing plant. The processed gas will be transferred to the network of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL).

The Bitrism East-1 field is located in the Khaipur region, and OGDCL holds a controlling stake of 77.5% in the exploration license for this field. Government Holdings (Private) Limited holds the remaining 22.5%. This initiative is considered a significant advancement in the development of gas and condensate resources in Pakistan and will contribute to sustainable energy supply in the region.
