The 10,000 psi pressure tapping device was unveiled at the National Iranian South Oilfields Company. This equipment has been introduced as an important achievement in the oil industry and is the result of the collaboration of Iranian specialists and youth. Ramin Hatami, the CEO of the National Iranian South Oilfields Company, highlighted the importance of this technology in managing high-pressure wells and the risks associated with oil activities during the ceremony.

Impact of the Tapping Device on Safety and Drilling Operations

Hatami further stated that this device allows for tapping from the body of the surface equipment and establishing communication with the wellbore, thereby helping to secure high-risk wells. Given the age of some wells and surface valves, access to the wellbore may come with limitations. Therefore, this equipment can improve safety conditions and reduce risks associated with drilling operations.

The CEO of the National Iranian South Oilfields Company also referred to the technical and safety challenges of old wells and emphasized that the design and construction of this equipment is an important step towards enhancing safety operations in oil fields. He also stressed the increase of domestic capabilities through first-time production contracts, stating that these contracts pave the way for the development of the technologies needed for the oil industry in the country.

The Necessity of Collaboration with the Private Sector and Development of Indigenous Technologies

Hatami emphasized the importance of trusting the private sector, stating: "A capable private sector is a collaborator and partner of the oil industry." He acknowledged that experience has shown that wherever trust has been placed in the capacities of the private sector, positive results have been achieved. This will help strengthen the capabilities of knowledge-based companies and young Iranian specialists and can pave the way for the advancement of the oil industry and the development of indigenous technologies in the country.

Mohammad Parkhid, the head of the Technical Affairs (Drilling) department, also pointed out the importance of safety and the capabilities of the National Iranian South Oilfields Company during this ceremony, saying: "This company possesses advanced equipment, pumps, and experienced specialized personnel in the field of blowout control." Given the need to supply hot-tap devices for operations on high-pressure wells, Parkhid emphasized that providing this equipment is essential for securing and improving the performance of oil and gas wells.

Parkhid also announced plans to increase the capacity of the drilling rigs and mobile core pipes by 100% in the near future, stating that a tender for the supply of 18 mobile core pipes is currently underway. In this regard, the supply of 20 drilling rigs is also on the agenda, and the process of bringing new rigs into the operational cycle is ongoing.
