Mohammad Mohsen Sadr today (Sunday, October 25) in a meeting with media representatives pointed to the role of information technology in managing energy imbalance, stating: Since the beginning of the fourteenth government, the use of technological tools for managing energy consumption has been pursued as a main strategy in the Ministry of Communications.

Key projects for energy consumption management

Sadr mentioned two key projects in this meeting, which include the smart management system for government buildings and the monitoring and management system for energy consumption in large industries. These projects are designed to enhance energy efficiency and reduce consumption in industries and are currently on the agenda of the Ministry of Communications.

Preparation of technical service descriptions for energy-intensive industries

The Deputy Minister of Communications continued: In collaboration with Sharif University of Technology and under a research contract, technical service descriptions for three major energy-intensive industries, including steel, aluminum, and iron ore, have been prepared and submitted to the responsible authorities. This action aims to establish smart monitoring and energy management systems in these industries, which can facilitate a 20 to 30 percent reduction in energy consumption.

Sadr emphasized: The Information Technology Organization, as the technical arm of the government, has prepared the necessary infrastructure and is working on implementing pilot models, but the generalization of these projects and the obligation of large industries and governmental bodies to implement them require serious follow-up from industries and higher authorities.

These measures demonstrate the serious determination of the Ministry of Communications to utilize modern technologies to reduce energy consumption and enhance productivity in the country's large industries. Given the existing capacities in the country's oil and gas fields, optimal exploitation of these energy resources can significantly impact cost reduction and energy consumption optimization.
