Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, at the ceremony commemorating National Standard Day held in the Summit Hall, referred to the impact of nuclear technology on the development of various industries in the country. He emphasized that the Atomic Energy Organization has facilitated the localization of equipment and industrial control systems to meet the needs of strategic industries.

The Importance of Control Systems in Strategic Industries

Eslami, pointing to the importance of control systems and precision instruments in strategic industries, said: "Sensitive sectors of the refining, petrochemical, steel, and other industries depend on systems responsible for controlling and managing industrial processes. Damage to these sectors can disrupt the operation and utilization of industrial units."

He also pointed to the limitations of sourcing and repairing certain equipment from abroad and added: "The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, relying on domestic capabilities and the expertise of specialists, is pursuing the production of this equipment while adhering to modern standards and providing the necessary products to industries."

Nuclear Technology and the Capacities of Youth

Eslami emphasized that nuclear technology is not limited to applications in a specific field, stating: "Nuclear technology is a technology of life, power, and progress, and the people of Iran have the right to benefit from the capacities of this advanced technology." He also referred to the role of specialized youth in achieving the country's scientific and technological accomplishments, adding: "The average age of colleagues working in various sectors of the Atomic Energy Organization in the path of technology development and flourishing is about 35 years, which indicates the valuable capacity of the country's young human resources."

Eslami continued: "The achievements resulting from the efforts of Iranian specialists, relying on existing structures and mechanisms, are continuously being updated and developed, and this path can pave the way for further progress in scientific, industrial, and technological fields."

The Vice President emphasized the importance of standards and quality in the activities of the Atomic Energy Organization, stating: "Standards are one of the fundamental pillars of technology development, and without serious attention to them, achieving sustainable progress will not be possible." Eslami stated that standards should not be limited to obtaining a standard mark for goods and services, adding: "Standards should be comprehensive and encompass all stages of production, utilization, and resource use. The ultimate goal should be to achieve high-quality, durable, dynamic, and competitive production."

He concluded by referring to the necessity of making production conditions and prices realistic, saying: "The concept of standards can only be properly realized when the quality of products, their durability and efficiency, as well as the economic conditions of production are taken into account. Such an approach helps in the correct consumption of resources and can be effective in reducing various imbalances in the country." Eslami emphasized: "Standards should become part of the lifestyle and production approach of the country, and the pursuit of knowledge frontiers and achieving technological achievements should align with the capacities and competencies of the Iranian nation."
