The Ministry of Oil is pursuing oil and gas cooperation with Azerbaijan and economic agreements with Russia to strengthen energy diplomacy. These efforts are underway to explore energy trade capacities, remove barriers to cooperation, and activate joint working groups.

Minister of Oil's Consultations with Azerbaijan

The Minister of Oil has held consultations with officials from Azerbaijan, which include examining the capacities of this country's oil and gas fields. Azerbaijan, with a daily production capacity of about one million barrels of oil and 30 billion cubic meters of natural gas, is considered one of Iran's important partners in the energy sector. These negotiations aim to improve trade relations and develop joint cooperation in energy extraction and transportation.

Economic Agreements with Russia

Alongside Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Oil is also focused on developing economic agreements with Russia. Given Russia's strategic position and its high capacity for oil and gas production, negotiations are being conducted for cooperation on joint projects and the exchange of modern technologies. Russia, producing about 10.5 million barrels of oil per day and 700 billion cubic meters of natural gas, is one of the largest energy producers in the world.

These consultations will not only help strengthen bilateral relations but can also assist in removing existing barriers to international cooperation in the energy sector. Activating joint working groups and reviewing existing contracts are other focal points of these negotiations aimed at facilitating economic interactions among regional countries.
