Mohammad Shariatmadari, CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, sent a message on the National Export Day and emphasized the role of exports in determining the status, credibility, and power of nations on the global stage. He wrote: "The leadership of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group as a pioneer in the value-creating petrochemical industry in the field of exports is due to the infusion of a spirit of innovation and synergy among the various components of this group."

The Role of Exports in the Global Economy

Shariatmadari added: "The global economy in the new era is more than ever a battleground for production, exports, and marketing. Today, exports are considered the most important component in determining the status and credibility of countries globally. National products and brands are ambassadors of the industrial and economic capabilities of nations."

Challenges and Opportunities in Export Development

The CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group stated that "Utilizing technology and technical knowledge are among the main drivers of exports; however, unlocking the knots of foreign trade and reaching the peak of export development requires understanding factors beyond the realm of technology." He also referred to the tumultuous experience of Iran's foreign trade and said that the perspective of policymakers and the approach of the governance system towards interaction with the global economy play a decisive role in the path of export development.

Shariatmadari further emphasized the necessity of national consensus on the requirements for economic development and listening to the views of elites and experts, stating: "In this regard, there is a need to reconsider approaches and facilitate trade exchanges and remove obstacles facing traders and industrialists, especially in the private sector."

The result of this collective effort has been the elevation of the group's position in the competitive ladder of the petrochemical industry in the region and the world; so much so that, according to the assessment of the reputable ICIS institute, the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group has climbed six places to achieve the second position in the Middle East and the twelfth position globally.

Shariatmadari concluded by emphasizing: "The National Export Day is a valuable opportunity to honor the efforts, expertise, and dedication of all my colleagues in various sectors of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group. These efforts, especially in securing the foreign currency needed by the country, particularly under difficult sanctions, reflect the strategic position of this organization in fulfilling the economic demands of society."
