On Wednesday, the price of Brent oil increased by $1.59, reaching $110.38 per barrel. This price increase is due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and concerns about disruptions in oil supply. Additionally, the decrease in crude oil and petroleum product reserves in the United States has supported prices.

Factors Influencing Oil Prices
Analysts believe that these fluctuations stem from profit-taking and hopes for a mediation agreement facilitated by Qatar or Pakistan. However, the reality is that reaching any agreement still seems out of reach. Data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) indicates that crude oil and petroleum product reserves in the U.S. decreased by 4.9 million barrels in the week ending October 16.
Increased Maritime Security Risks
Maritime security risks are also on the rise. According to ship tracking company Kepler, at least 18 attacks on vessels have been recorded in the past two weeks. Additionally, analysts at LSEG have warned that Iran is targeting tankers in areas beyond the Strait of Hormuz, particularly in the Sea of Oman. This situation has put crude oil loading in the Persian Gulf and the transfer of oil between vessels to support loading operations in the region at risk.
Attacks on Oil Facilities in Saudi Arabia
In Saudi Arabia, Yemen's Ansar Allah claimed responsibility for attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities in Yanbu, the Shaybah oil field, and airports in Riyadh and Abha. These developments could have significant impacts on oil supply and global prices.
U.S. Department of Energy Actions
In the U.S., officials from the Department of Energy announced that the department is working to collaborate with refineries worldwide to increase fuel production. This action has been initiated in response to a shortage of diesel and its rising prices.
Given these developments, the oil market is experiencing significant changes that could impact prices and oil supply in the future.
