Mansour Shakrlahi, a member of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasized the necessity of changing the approach to energy management, stating: "Energy management is not limited to consumption; it encompasses a chain of production, transmission, distribution, and consumption, and the sustainability of this chain requires cooperation and coordination among all responsible agencies."

Synergy between the Ministries of Oil and Power

Shakrlahi considered the ministries of Oil and Power to be two main entities in securing the country's energy and added: "Strategic synergy between these two ministries and coordination in policymaking and implementation can address a significant portion of the existing challenges in the energy sector."

Energy Consumption Management and Sustainable Fuel Supply

He pointed out the necessity of managing energy consumption, stating: "Saving and increasing efficiency must be considered alongside the development of production capacities, and consumption management can play a significant role in reducing pressure on the grid and overcoming energy imbalances." Shakrlahi deemed sustainable fuel supply for the production and transportation sectors essential and stated: "Continuity of service and sustainable energy supply requires long-term planning and upgrading management standards at the macro level."

He explained the role of the parliament in this regard: "The Energy Commission, while overseeing the proper implementation of laws, pursues the removal of legal obstacles, allocation of resources, and coordination among responsible agencies to ensure that the process of energy production, distribution, and consumption is carried out more efficiently."

The representative of the people of South Kerman in the Islamic Consultative Assembly considered energy management to require a long-term roadmap and said: "Increasing efficiency in industries, reducing waste in the distribution network, reforming consumption patterns, and developing energy production infrastructure must be pursued in a comprehensive and coordinated program."

Shakrlahi emphasized: "Overcoming energy imbalances is not possible through sporadic actions alone, and cooperation between the government and parliament, coordination between the ministries of Oil and Power, and public participation in consumption management can create the conditions for achieving energy network sustainability."
