Kalmar has signed an agreement with International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) to supply 12 Kalmar hybrid straddle carriers to the South Luzon Container Terminal (SLCT) located at the Batangas International Port in the Philippines. This significant order, which also includes MyKalmar INSIGHT coverage for all units, has been registered in Kalmar's third-quarter order book for 2026, with delivery of all units scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.
Details of the South Luzon Container Terminal
The South Luzon Container Terminal (SLCT) is located approximately 110 kilometers south of Manila at the Batangas International Port and will support industrial and manufacturing activities. Upon completion, SLCT will feature an 800-meter-long wharf, 38 hectares of yard space, and an annual capacity of 1.6 million TEU. This terminal is recognized as one of the largest container terminals in the Philippines and will play a crucial role in facilitating the transport and handling of containers.
Supply of hybrid straddle simulator
As part of this agreement, Kalmar will also supply a straddle simulator. This simulator will be stationed at the terminal and will assist in training new operators and updating the skills of existing operators.
