Region 2 of Iran's gas transmission operations has strengthened the country's gas supply infrastructure by executing 6,000 work orders in the area of maintenance and stability of the gas transmission network. Asadollah Mehri, the manager of this region, emphasized the importance of these actions in enhancing the quality and security of the gas transmission network and elaborated on the activities carried out in this area.

Network Maintenance Actions

Mehri pointed out that periodic services for air compressors and power generators at facilities, provision of backup items for operations, and continuous monitoring and assessment of equipment have contributed to maintaining the network's readiness. Additionally, excavation, radiography, and assessment of 15 points of the tenth national line and 4 points of the eighth national line were among the other activities carried out during this period.

He also mentioned the leak detection of 1,558 kilometers of the lines covered by the region and noted that during this period, 200 square meters of line coverings were replaced. These actions were taken to reduce risk and enhance the safety of the network, contributing to improved system performance.

Crisis Management and Gas Supply

The manager of Region 2 of Iran's gas transmission operations discussed activities related to crisis management, stating that crisis working group meetings were held continuously to make necessary decisions to reduce operational risks and increase network readiness in emergency situations. Despite a reduction of about 230 million cubic meters in gas production, this region has effectively managed to improve the gas supply needed for the South Pars gas network by rearranging facilities and national lines.

Mehri emphasized that sending colleagues to monitor power plant consumption and manage power plant quotas for gas supply, as well as continuing electricity production without disruption, has been beneficial. These actions highlight the importance of cooperation and coordination in crisis situations.

Innovations and Knowledge Transfer

Among the other innovative actions in this region is the establishment of expert associations to organize heating and cooling systems at stations aimed at reducing energy consumption. Additionally, feasibility studies for implementing a header system at the Isfahan 2 pressure boosting facilities and resolving the interference issue of the cathodic protection system at the Pataweh 2 and 10 facilities have been examined.

Mehri also referred to the registration and documentation of lessons learned from experts and retired employees, stating that this action helps in knowledge transfer and prevents the loss of specialized experiences from the organization. All these activities are aimed at strengthening and improving the gas supply infrastructure and increasing the stability of Iran's gas transmission network.
