Hamidreza Taghafi, CEO of Petropars Group, announced a new record for gas production from Phase 11 of South Pars. Gas production from position B of this phase has reached one billion cubic feet per day. This increase in production is the result of continued drilling operations, completion of wells, and preparation of facilities for production.
Increase in active wells and production capacity
Taghafi pointed out the development trend of this position, stating: "The number of active wells in position B has increased from four to twelve during the fourteenth government, and the gas production capacity of this section has doubled in the first 17 months of this government." During this period, more than 26,480 meters of drilling has been carried out, and the completion and acidizing operations of the wells for bringing all wells into production have continued.
Achieving goals under difficult conditions
With the entry of the twelfth well into operation, daily gas production from platform B of Phase 11 has reached over 28 million cubic meters, adding about 17 million cubic meters to the daily production of this position during the fourteenth government. In total, about 50,000 meters of drilling has been conducted in position B, and a drilling rig has been employed in executing these operations.
After the exit of foreign companies from the project, the continued development of Phase 11 was entrusted to Petropars, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Oil. This company has pursued the development of various sections of the project from drilling and completing wells to developing offshore and onshore facilities. This operation continued under sanctions and even during two periods of war, and project activities were not halted while adhering to technical and safety requirements.
Other advancements in Phase 11
In position A of Phase 11, development operations have also entered new stages during the fourteenth government. After the verticalization of the jacket (Roll-Up), the completion of construction operations, loading (Load Out), and bracing, the jacket was installed in its final position. Simultaneously, pile driving operations continued under difficult regional conditions.
The construction of the deck in this position has not been halted over the past two years, and its progress has increased from less than four percent to about 50 percent. Currently, the project's focus is on continuing the construction of the deck and advancing development stages. Phase 11 of South Pars is now one of the notable examples of the country's engineering and executive capabilities in developing the shared field.
