Ehsan Zabihzadeh, the spokesperson for the country's electricity industry, stated regarding the status of liquid fuel storage in power plants that this process is in a suitable condition. He pointed out that over 80 percent of thermal electricity production in the country is supplied through gas fuel, and therefore, to increase reliability and cope with critical conditions in gas supply, liquid fuel has been designated as a backup fuel for power plant units.
Status of Liquid Fuel Storage
Zabihzadeh further referred to the storage of liquid fuel in power plants and added: "Until the complete filling of the liquid fuel tanks, a specific amount remains, and we are confident that our hardworking colleagues in the Ministry of Oil will complete this remaining capacity in the coming days and weeks, coinciding with the onset of the cold season." This statement reflects a special focus on ensuring fuel supply for power plants during the cold season.

Special Measures for the Cold Season
The spokesperson for the country's electricity industry emphasized that the appropriate allocation of gas fuel to power plants and the completion of liquid fuel tanks ensure that entering the cold season regarding fuel supply for power plants is conducted in a favorable condition. According to him, damage to gas supply infrastructure due to enemy attacks during the imposed war has led to a reduction in gas supply capacity compared to last year, and for this reason, special measures have been put in place compared to 1404.
In line with these measures, the use of high-efficiency units in thermal power plants and reducing diesel consumption, especially in the northern half of the country where the likelihood of fuel supply issues is higher, has been considered. Additionally, repairs to the main electricity transmission networks are being pursued with special attention compared to previous years to avoid facing electricity supply problems during the cold season.
Zabihzadeh concluded by noting that with the planned measures in the areas of fuel supply, power plant repairs, renewable development, and transmission network preparation, efforts are being made to pass the cold season with minimal repercussions on electricity supply.
