Ramazanali Sangdevini announced at the Fuel Consumption Optimization Management Working Group meeting in Golestan Province that gas consumption management is essential for maintaining the gas network's stability during the winter season. He mentioned the challenges of fuel supply for power plants in 2024 and reported the establishment of a "Fuel Management Headquarters" by the order of the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.
Planning for Winter Peak Load Management
Sangdevini added that through multiple meetings with the Minister of Oil and the Minister of Energy, preventive measures for managing the winter peak load have been pursued diligently, and the amount of diesel stored in the country's strategic reserves serves as a solid backing for this goal.

He also referred to the development of a precise table for the allocation and distribution of fuel to power plants, which has been communicated to the President, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and the Ministers of Oil and Energy after finalization. This communication is a roadmap that prevents any duplication of efforts and organizes distribution management based on fairness and the actual needs of power plants.
The Necessity of Reviving Mandatory Policies in Industries
Sangdevini emphasized the need to return to mandatory policies in the industrial sector, referencing historical crisis management experiences since 2007. He explained that in previous years, contracts with large industries were based on providing secondary fuel, and industries were required to store alternative fuel for at least four months to prevent disruptions in the national gas network.
He also stated that consumption management is the most important and accessible solution to prevent gas outages, adding that the country has over 30 million natural gas subscribers, each of whom can contribute to network stability by adjusting their consumption patterns.
Sangdevini expressed gratitude for the efforts of the National Iranian Gas Company in optimizing energy consumption and hoped that with collective synergy, the upcoming winter would also pass without challenges, and consumption management would be not only an operational necessity but also a defensive strategy.
The Fuel Consumption Optimization Management Working Group meeting in Golestan Province was held with the presence of Saeed Tavakoli, CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, and Ali Asghar Tahmasbi, Governor of Golestan. During this meeting, preventive solutions for maintaining gas flow stability and fuel supply to power plants during the winter were discussed and exchanged.
