The research project "Determining the Causes of Seismic Activities in the Shanoul Gas Field" has been completed as one of the important actions in the field of scientific and specialized studies in oil and gas. Mohammad Sadegh Mehrjou, the technical affairs manager of the National Iranian Central Oil Company, emphasized the importance of conducting scientific studies at the presentation meeting of the project results and stated that this project was implemented for the first time in the history of the National Iranian Oil Company and the National Iranian Central Oil Company.
The Necessity of Utilizing Research Results
Mehrjou stated that the results obtained from this project should be used in similar projects, saying, "Research activities should not be limited to the stage of presenting results." He called for more comprehensive studies in the fields of geology, seismology, and regional geotechnical investigations in the southern Zagros region, adding, "Given the rapid development of gas fields in this area, it is necessary to move towards implementing large-scale and interdisciplinary research projects."

Transforming Results into Operational Solutions
Ali Akbar Nourian, head of research and development at the National Iranian Central Oil Company, also emphasized the necessity of following up on the project's results after the final presentation. He stated that the purpose of holding this meeting is not just to present the final report, but the results of this study must be transformed into operational actions. If generalizability is achieved, this experience can be utilized in other fields and similar projects of the company.
Mehdi Zare, the project executor and head of the research team at the International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering, during the presentation, referred to the constructive interaction and cooperation between the National Iranian Central Oil Company, the research department, and the scientific group of the project. The members of the research group also presented the findings and results of the studies, detailing the most important data and analyses conducted regarding the seismic activities of the Shanoul gas field.
Experts from the South Zagros Oil and Gas Operating Companies, West Oil and Gas, and East Oil and Gas also participated in this meeting via video conference and raised their specialized views and questions regarding the project results.
