The Isfahan Oil Refinery has taken an important step towards strengthening domestic capabilities in the production of heavy equipment for the refining industry with the completion of the 530-ton tank. The construction of this tank was carried out using automatic submerged arc welding (SAW) technology and narrow gap welding techniques. This technology is utilized in large industrial projects due to its high precision and ability to weld joints with thick materials.
Quality Control and Advanced Testing
To ensure the quality of the welds and joints, thermal conditions were closely monitored, and advanced ultrasonic tests were conducted on the welds. According to the Isfahan Oil Refinery Company, the inspection results have been approved by inspectors and representatives of the project stakeholders. These approvals indicate the high quality achieved in the construction of this tank and compliance with international standards.
Reducing Dependence on Foreign Manufacturers
The completion of this equipment not only enables the use of domestic capacities for supplying heavy equipment but also serves as an important experience in the construction and welding of high-pressure tanks. Developing such capacities can help reduce the oil industry's dependence on foreign manufacturers and strengthen the technical capabilities of domestic companies in supplying strategic equipment. Gholamreza Bagheri-Dizaj, CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Isfahan Oil Refinery Company, emphasized the necessity for subsidiary companies to focus on specialized areas and develop technical capabilities during the completion ceremony of this tank.
Change in Management Approach at Moshaleh Pouya Company
Bagheri-Dizaj also referred to the change in the management approach of Moshaleh Pouya Company since Azar 1403, stating: "The focus on areas such as the construction of metal structures, tanks, pressure vessels, and air coolers aims to deepen specialization and strengthen the technical capabilities of this company." He considered the development of domestic capabilities in the construction of refinery equipment as a feasible area to pursue and stressed the need to introduce Moshaleh Pouya's capacities to other industries and expand industrial collaborations.
At the end of this ceremony, the transfer operation of tank V-74203 to the RHU project site at Isfahan Refinery began. This action demonstrates continuous progress in refining projects and efforts to enhance domestic capabilities in the country's oil and gas industry.
