Argentina's grain production in the 2026/27 season is expected to reach a record 157.9 million tons. This forecast was announced by the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange and is attributed to increased soybean and corn yields. Argentina is recognized as the largest exporter of soybean oil and meal in the world and ranks third among corn exporters.
Details of the Production Forecast
According to the Grain Exchange's forecasts, soybean production is expected to reach 53.6 million tons, up from 50.1 million tons in the 2025/26 season. Additionally, corn production is projected to increase to 66 million tons, while this figure was 64 million tons in the previous season. These statistics indicate Argentina's high potential in grain production and could help strengthen the country's position in global markets.

Challenges and Notable Points
Ramiro Costa, the General Director of the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, stated that this forecast depends on weather conditions and production decisions in the coming months. Rainfall and suitable temperatures could help increase production, while adverse conditions could have negative effects on production. It is also expected that wheat production in the 2026/27 season will decrease to 23.4 million tons, a significant drop from 27.8 million tons in the previous season. Argentina is recognized as a major wheat supplier in the global market, and this decrease could impact prices and global supply.
The Rosario Grain Exchange early this month forecasted that soybean production in the 2026/27 season will reach 47.8 million tons and corn harvest will be 70.5 million tons. These figures reflect the high global demand for Argentine grains and the country's significant potential to meet the world's food needs.
