Ahmad Emtehani, the manager of Zone 4 of Iran's gas transfer operations, announced that the incident index in this zone has reached zero. This success has been achieved through conducting 6 operational drills and executing 23 high-risk operations without any incidents. Additionally, fire risk assessment studies and 100% coverage of periodic employee examinations are other measures taken in this region in the field of health, safety, and environment (HSE).

Measures to Address Gas Imbalance

Emtehani pointed to the gas imbalance in the northeast of the country, especially with the loss of part of the capacity of the South Pars refineries, stating that these issues have intensified the need for immediate and medium-term measures. Completing the eastern ring of the country through the implementation of the Sarbisheh–Nehbandan pipeline and also completing the reinforcement line south of Mashhad are among this region's plans for this year.

Resource Savings and Optimization

The manager of Zone 4 of Iran's gas transfer operations also reported a saving of about 1.6 million cubic meters of gas as an achievement of optimizing operational processes. This saving was due to a review of the cleaning pigging program and a re-prioritization of the pipelines. The number of pipelines planned for pigging has been reduced from 29 lines to seven priority lines, and operations are conducted based on priorities and emergency conditions of the network.

Emtehani also referred to the use of new technologies and knowledge-based capacities, stating that the use of nanomaterials in washing valves, designing backup equipment, and developing monitoring systems for the network are among the actions taken to enhance safety and efficiency.

The role of operational zones in maintaining network stability and providing energy for residential, industrial, and power generation customers is very significant. Gas transfer operation zones are recognized as the frontline in achieving the missions of the Iran Gas Transmission Company, and precise management of gas flow and continuous monitoring of pipelines are among their responsibilities.

In the plans for the coming months, major repairs of a 25,000-hour turbine and the commissioning of two emergency generators at operational centers are considered important actions to increase network readiness. Additionally, protecting the rights of the pipelines and reducing losses in these areas are other priorities.
