Abbas Basafa, the director of the country's smart fuel system, announced the implementation of the plan to identify emergency fuel cards during the "Monitoring" program on Channel One on October 1st. The main goal of this plan is to reduce the operator's oversight at gas stations and to increase transparency and management of fuel allocation and withdrawal, especially in border areas.

Increased Withdrawals from Emergency Cards

Basafa explained that the emergency card was provided for refueling in case of forgetting the fuel card at gas stations. However, over time, the amount withdrawn from these cards has significantly increased and reached 40 percent in September. This statistic indicates the high usage of these cards by the public and the necessity of organizing them.

Challenges and the Necessity of Identifying Free Cards

The director of the smart fuel system pointed out the existing challenges in using emergency cards and added: "The lack of identification for these cards has caused problems and led to oversight at gas stations and off-network fuel distribution." He also referred to a law that obliges people to use their personal fuel cards 95 percent of the time and emphasized the need for proper fuel management.

Given the current situation and the challenges in the country's fuel system, identifying emergency cards could help reduce violations and enhance transparency in fuel distribution. This plan is considered part of a comprehensive program to improve the country's fuel system, which is expected to be implemented in the near future.
