The 30-inch Konarak supply pipeline has been connected to the gas network. Behnam Mirzaei, CEO of the Engineering and Development Company of Iran Gas, stated that this project was designed and implemented to ensure stable gas supply for the region and to supply gas to the strategic Konarak power plant.

Project Details

This project includes the construction of a 15-kilometer long pipeline with a diameter of 30 inches and a design pressure of 350 pounds per square inch (psi). The route of this pipeline starts from the 16-inch receiver station in Konarak and extends to the beginning of the power plant station in the city of Konarak. The technical components of this project include a gas control and measurement station with a capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per hour and an interstitial valve station. Additionally, 8 branches have been implemented to cover various consumer sectors including the power plant, industries, and the city and villages of Konarak County.

Implementation Phases and Timeline

The CEO of the Engineering and Development Company of Iran Gas spoke about the timeline and final phases of this project, stating that the construction operations of the mentioned pipeline were completed in late March of last year. After the continuous efforts of the staff of this organization, the final connection to the gas pipeline was made in July of this year. With the commissioning of the Konarak pressure reduction station, the mentioned pipeline was fully gas-injected and launched on September 21.

This significant achievement was realized under wartime conditions in the region, preventing any interruptions. This project not only helps supply gas to the Konarak power plant but can also lead to improvements in regional infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
