Nader Bazarafshan, the head of the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union, announced the participation of 132 companies at the 19th specialized gold and jewelry exhibition in Isfahan, stating that this exhibition has seen at least a 70% growth compared to last year. This event is recognized as one of the top exhibitions in the country in the field of gold and jewelry.

Isfahan's Position in the Gold and Jewelry Industry

Bazarafshan pointed out Isfahan's position as the hub of gold and jewelry production in the country, stating that after Isfahan, Tehran, Tabriz, Yazd, and Mashhad are also recognized as important centers in this industry. He also mentioned the specialization of this exhibition and added that alongside gold and jewelry products, machinery, tools, and related technologies are also presented at this event.

Impact of Sanctions on the Gold Industry

Bazarafshan continued: "Considering the country's conditions and the limitations caused by sanctions, the active participation of industry players and the holding of such an exhibition is commendable. The gold and jewelry industry is an important industry and should not be regarded merely as a luxury commodity. The perspective of officials towards this industry needs to change."

He also emphasized that unions should have a more prominent supportive presence and that exhibition organizers should examine weaknesses and shortcomings to address them in the coming years. The head of the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union deemed it essential to change the government's and officials' perspective, stating: "The gold and jewelry industry can generate foreign currency and create jobs, covering a significant part of the country's economy."
