Natural gas prices in Asian and European markets rose again on Monday due to reduced hopes for a quick reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. This price increase occurs as the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) continues to face serious challenges.

Analysis of the Natural Gas Market

According to the latest data, the price of natural gas in Asia reached $11.3 per million BTU, indicating a 2.5 percent increase compared to last week. In Europe, prices have also risen to $10.4 per million BTU. This price increase reflects growing concerns about the supply of natural gas in global markets.

Currently, the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important energy transit routes in the world, is in a critical situation. Any disruption in this region could have significant impacts on the global energy market and lead to further price increases.

Challenges in LNG Supply

Reports indicate that limitations in LNG supply have also contributed to rising prices. Currently, demand for LNG in Asian countries, particularly China and Japan, has surged, while major producers like Qatar and Australia are unable to meet this demand.

This situation has led buyers to seek new supply sources, resulting in increased competition for LNG purchases. This has also caused prices to rise in global markets.

In the meantime, analysts believe that if the situation in the Strait of Hormuz does not improve and challenges in LNG supply persist, natural gas prices may rise to higher levels in the coming months.
