The wheat price forecast in the United States for 2026/27 has increased to $6.40 per bushel, indicating a $0.20 rise from previous forecasts. This increase is influenced by prices reported by NASS, future price predictions, cash prices, and also the rise in corn prices.
Changes in U.S. Wheat Exports
Export expectations in the U.S. wheat balance sheet indicate significant changes based on the type of wheat. Exports of white wheat have increased by 20 million bushels, while exports of hard red winter wheat and hard red spring wheat have decreased by 15 million and 5 million bushels, respectively. These changes are based on reported sales and shipments as well as the price competition of each type of wheat against major international suppliers.

Global Wheat Supply and Demand
The global wheat forecast this month has shifted towards increased supply. Global wheat supply has risen to 1,103.0 million tons, which is 3.5 million tons more than before. This increase is mainly due to stronger production estimates in major exporting countries. Australia's production has increased to 31.0 million tons, and Canada's production forecast has also reached 36.0 million tons. Ukraine's production has also reached 26.0 million tons with increased recorded yields.
Meanwhile, global wheat consumption has risen to 826.8 million tons, driven by increased use of feed and residues. However, global trade has decreased to 211.8 million tons due to reduced shipments from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Egypt. Logistical disruptions in the Black Sea have impacted exports from Russia and Ukraine. Global ending stocks are expected to increase to 276.3 million tons, primarily due to rising stocks in Russia, Australia, and Ukraine.
Overall, the increase in global supply and stocks may impose limitations on wheat price increases, although stronger U.S. prices and supportive corn markets may act as a buffer against deeper declines.
