The VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) tanker market has experienced rising rates on various routes this week. These changes indicate a strengthening market and a return to a positive trend after a period of decline. The new rates from different routes show that the demand for crude oil transportation is increasing.

Rate Increases on Main Routes

The rate for the TD3C route (270,000 tons from the Persian Gulf to China) has reached 1,145 WS this week, equivalent to $1,221,893 per day for standard VLCC tankers. This rate increase, despite a 12.5-point decrease compared to last week, indicates a strengthening demand in the market. Additionally, the TD34 route (Oman Gulf to China) has also increased to 761.43 WS, reaching a daily TCE of $823,313.

In the Atlantic market, the rate for the TD15 route (260,000 tons from West Africa to China), which faced a decline at the beginning of the week, has now reached 519.06 WS, bringing the daily TCE to $515,084. The TD22 route (Gulf of America to China) has also increased to $400,364 per day after an initial decrease.

Strengthening Suezmax and Black Sea Markets

In the Suezmax sector, the market has significantly strengthened compared to last week. The rate for the TD20 route (130,000 tons from Nigeria to continental Europe) has increased by 289 points to 728.33 WS, equivalent to a daily TCE of $408,000. Additionally, the TD27 route (Guyana to continental Europe) has increased by 312.5 points to 743.89 WS, resulting in a daily TCE of $423,500.

In the Black Sea, the rate for the TD6 route (135,000 tons CPC/Augusta) has increased by 133 points to 634.44 WS, indicating a daily TCE of nearly $487,700. This price increase is due to higher demand in global markets and the need for crude oil logistics.

In Northern Europe, the rate for the TD7 route (80,000 tons from the UK to continental Europe) has decreased by about 15 points to 410 WS, equivalent to a daily TCE of $304,200. Additionally, the TD19 route (80,000 tons from the Mediterranean Sea) has decreased by 18 points to 625 WS.

The VLCC and Suezmax tanker markets indicate a positive trend in demand and strengthening prices. This development will benefit oil transportation companies and could lead to increased revenues and improved financial positions.
